GPVWC Atlantic Series Round 8 Austin

The GPVWC Atlantic Series came to a conclusion on Tuesday evening with Round 8 of what has been an up and down season for the team.  Unfortunately, we lost both drivers for the final race in Austin, so I had to step in and try and get the best from a track I barely know and hadn’t practiced a great deal.  There was also the surprise again of a wet track in qualifying and at the beginning of the race, but it seemed easy enough to start on slicks and the track dried out quite quickly leaving me to stick to my one stop pit strategy.  After  a slow start, the race went pretty well and I made the usual positions from people retiring and thankfully being a little quicker than the drivers behind, meant that I had a quiet race.  I eventually made it up to 10th place by the end, which was my 4th top ten in a row and it placed me 10th overall in the standings.  A very big positive for me personally in the end, but the team just missed out on 5th place in the team championship after a strong drive from Scott Berrisford took away any chance we had of overtaking TSA Racing.  A big thank you to all the drivers who took part this season Paul Watkins (27pts), Daniel Brewer (65pts), Rory Collins (17pts) and Philip Morby (22pts)!  You all played your part in bringing the team an excellent 6th place finish in the team championship.
