For Ade

It was a great pleasure taking part in the Ade Randle Celebration of Life charity event last night at WRRacing.net, to remember Ade and to help raise money for Inspirative Arts.  A specially designed pace car bearing Ade’s name and using some of the livery designs he had used in the past, took us round the parade laps at a very wet Oulton Park and Donington National circuits, in what turned out to be a good evening’s racing.

Surpringly, in race 1 I wasn’t too far off the pace and started 4th on the grid.  Kevin, Matthew and Cameron were battling it out for the first 3 places with me a few seconds behind, but one by one, each of them went off the track at various points in the race, leaving me to take a very rare race victory, which I’d like to dedicate to Ade after sharing many races with him at GRC.

Race 2 at Donington was a bit unfortunate for everyone, as 90% of the field disconnected half way through the race leaving only two cars.  I remembered that you can rejoin a race in rFactor 2 after a disconnect so coming back in I was 2 laps down on Matthew but managed to overtake the only other car in the field to take the most bizarre 2nd place ever.

Thanks to Woodee and everyone else at WRRacing.net for organising the event!
